Milestone For Specialist Network Security Provider
October 2008, Cambridge, UK: Metadigm, the network and end point security specialists, have completed the 50th event in their ongoing series of highly successful technical seminars and security business briefings. Held at the prestigious location of No. 1 Threadneedle Street in London, Metadigm hosted over 20 delegates on the subject of "WAN Acceleration", together with partners Riverbed Technology Inc.
Metadigm has been running free security seminars since the late 1990's, covering a variety of highly advanced technical subjects in IT and network security, and attracting almost 2000 delegate registrations at 26 different venues around the UK.
Simon Brooks, Director of Sales at Metadigm explains: "Over the years, our seminars have reflected the changes in the way IT security solutions have evolved, from the early days of Firewalls and Anti-Virus, to the more modern Unified Threat Management approach".
Metadigm ran the first of its seminars in 1999, entitled "Securing the Internet for Business". More recently, the area of "Advances in End Point Security" has been regularly covered at Metadigm's events. Simon Brooks continues "With all the recent news about portable storage devices like laptops and USB keys being lost or stolen, we felt the time was right to educate organisations about how they should be protecting their critical data on the move. The most obvious solution is laptop and device encryption, but we also describe the issues of rolling out these complex systems".
The October 2008 seminar takes Metadigm into the new and fast moving area of WAN Acceleration. Simon Brooks continues: "Many large, multisite organisations are looking for ways to cut the cost of doing business. Speeding up applications, consolidating server infrastructure centrally and running faster backups more efficiently across the WAN can now be achieved without the need to throw money at bandwidth to solve the problem.
